From One Truck To A Global Logistics Partner

1982

The beginning: Caribe Express

In 1982, Caribe Express was founded by an entrepreneur, Mr. Joe Chatt, a former Air Force accountant, who had established himself in Puerto Rico in the late 1960s. After opening a trucking company, Mr. Chatt sought to develop his company and form joint ventures to expand its services and coverage, always with the goal of providing a fast, safe and reliable service like no other.

1987

Joint forces: Excel Cargo Services

In 1987, Excel Cargo Services, a freight forwarding company was created in Greensboro, North Carolina, under the leadership of John Ford with a group of longtime business friends. A new era of global business began with the partnership of multiple entities opening the door to greater services.

1997

The Consolidation

After 15 years of entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration with 16 logistics companies across the Eastern USA, the Dominican Republic, the USVI, and Puerto Rico, a major decision had to be made the consolidation of all operations.

By bringing all the companies together under one umbrella, a holding company named CaribEx Worldwide was established, which also became the trade name used by all entities. Driven by the same spirit of growth, the expansion continued, reaching new markets throughout Central America.

2009

1st step to a new generation

In 2009, we lost our founder, mentor and friend, Mr. Joe Chatt. But the unity of the staff and the partners kept the company focused: To provide the best possible service to our customers, a family environment among our employees, and continued growth within the company.

Our friend and partner, Mr. John Ford, took over the leadership of the company as Chairman and continued the growth and development, expanding the company’s services and reach with multiple partners around the world.

2017

New name and new offices

By 2017 we rebrand our company with a name that represent our multinational footprint. CaribEx Worldwide become CBX Global. During this period, CBX Global expanded our business in Asia, opening multiple offices in China.

2019

2019 – 2nd step to a new Generation

After many years of hard work and dedication, Mr. Ford retired to pursue new goals. In 2019, the Board of Directors appointed Mr. Joselin Ramos as the new leader, creating a new focus, One Team!

Many changes, new structures and diversity of leadership came into place creating a stronger company. Sales were substantial and new goals were achieved.

Ending 2021, and aiming to the 40-year celebration, CBX Global holds many memories and future opportunities like no other!

2025

One Team, No limits!

43 years later, we continue to celebrate the hard work, dedication and commitment of all of our employees, customers and vendors!
